Blacksmith Blues

Today, being a blacksmith is a highly underrated skill. During wartime, a blacksmith is essential. Not only do they play a key role in building, but they also maintain a fort before, during, and after wartime. One misconception about the Blacksmith Shop is that they make the horseshoes for the horses. Being built on Mudd Island, the mud can get so thick that it can and will suck the shoes right off your feet. Horses here would have been ineffective. There were never any horses at this fort.

However, all the metal in the fort will be forged on the grounds at Fort Mifflin. Some obvious examples are, of course, weapons such as guns, knives, and swords. The often overlooked metals include nails, spikes, hinges, straps, tools, doorknobs, gates, utensils, and cannon carriage hardware.
