Framing Tips

You just bought a great photograph. You want to take care of it and make sure it stays in perfect condition. There are a few small steps to follow to keep it safe and in position.

Hinging Tape can work wonders. If you were to use scotch tape, it will peal the backing off the photo when removed. Hinging tape will protect the photo as well as keep it in place. Simply put a small piece on each corner of the photo and secure it to the back of the matt.

Once you have the photo in place on the mat with the hinging tape, put it in the frame and now you are ready to hang your photo and make it look like a work of art with a touch of class.

You want to protect your photo and ensure that it does not slide down in the frame over time. The best way to do this is to buy a frame that is one size bigger than the size of the photo.

For an 8”x10” photo, you want to buy an 11”x14” frame that comes with a mat around the photo. The mat will keep the photo from actually touching the glass and sticking to the glass over time.

Now that you have the phot behind the mat, gravity takes over and the photo slides out of place. There is a simple solution for this as well.
