When I was younger, my family went to a motel in Wildwood, NJ. When I looked around our room for the first time, there was a picture of the motel sitting on the desk. I asked my mother what it was, and she told me it was a postcard left in case we wanted to send a message back home. I can't remember if we ever did it or not, but years ago, this was a normal practice.
There are moments in our lives that we all wish we could freeze in time. A way to have a snapshot of our life in the moment, in that time. A way to remember a chapter in our life, whether it was big or small. There was a time when we could do that.
I went into an antique store and saw a bunch of postcards sitting in a bin. Collected from various families, these are snapshots of their family history. Just a line or two written on a card from a business trip, a vacation, or even an enlistment. I found it interesting to read these and wonder about the people who wrote them, about the people who received them. So here, I present to you these snapshots of someone's life for you to read. I will not provide any commentary, merely a transcription. But I invite you to allow your mind to wander off and be in that moment with these people. I present to you, Postcard From The Past.
