“Fisher Hall”

I couldn't walk around the grounds at Princeton University and miss the opportunity to photograph a building with my name on it.
Donald and Doris Fisher founded GAP Inc in 1969. It comes as no surprise that they would want to send their children to the best school. Their eldest son, Robert, graduated in 1976, followed by William in 1979 and John in 1983. All roads lead back to family, though. Despite their different successes in business, they have all come back to the family business. Each one of them has a role in the company that their parents started. Robert J Fisher is the current chairman of GAP Inc. William S Fisher serves as the director, while John J. Fisher is the president.
Their success all started on the grounds of Princeton University. As a way to thank the university, the Fisher family generously donated Fisher Hall, which serves as the university's Department of Politics. They also donated this dormitory, also called Fisher Hall, which sits on the other side of campus and serves as part of Whitman College.
Fisher Hall is a beautiful Gothic-style building designed by alumni Demetri T. Porphyrios, who graduated with a Ph. D. degree in architecture in 1980. Opened in 2007, this coed dormitory houses 50 students. Some of the more impressive features that this dorm holds are a game room, a seminar room, study lounges, a theater, and my personal favorite, a dark room.
Looking at dorms like this, I can’t help but wonder what it would be like to live that Ivy League Lifestyle. It’s a whole other world and one that is so far from the one that most of us lead that we could never imagine living in that world.
