“Winter In The Park”

On any given day, during any other season, this park would be full of life. Water flowing, fish swimming in the ponds, leaves on the trees, lush green grass covering the ground, nature lovers sitting on the bench taking in the beauty, and people under the pavilion providing brief coverage from the beating sun.

Now, the leaves have fallen, the ponds are frozen over, the pavilion is empty, the bench has grown cold, and Mother Nature has left a blanket of snow over the grass. It’s almost as if the park has been packed away for the winter. Is there any less beauty NOW than when it’s thriving? As beautiful as all that life is, there is something here to be admired. There is a pristine pureness to appreciate in the untouched park. The unblemished snow does something to the soul.

Seeing a scene like this reminds us that beauty is everywhere. Mother Nature does her part to put it there, but it’s our job to take the time to appreciate it. We need to take time to get out into the world around us and not simply take it for granted as we zoom by in a hurry to get to where we are going. I encourage everyone to take time this week to explore all that Mother Nature has to offer.
